AQFF on Tour: The Campaign Documentary
LEWISBURG, W.Va. – The Appalachian Queer Film Festival (AQFF) announces two free screenings of the film “The Campaign” in Charleston and Huntington, West Virginia. The Charleston screening will take place on September 5 at 7 p.m. at the Kanawha Players Theatre, located at 309 Beauregard Street in Charleston, West Virginia. The second screening will take place September 8 at Marshall University’s main campus in Smith Hall Rm. 154 at 7:30pm.
“The Campaign,” a film directed by Christie Herring, tells the story of the battle to defeat California’s Proposition 8 and defend same-sex marriage. Herring, whose film also will be shown at the AQFF, will lead a question-and-answer session immediately following the film.
The Charleston screening is sponsored by the Kanawha Players, and the Marshall University Political Science Department and the Sexuality Studies Program are sponsoring the Huntington screening.
